"Fauxasis"
In this project, students had to create a sculpture of mutated things. The sculptures were made of cardboard and other recycled materials that people don't use. I contributed with Kotae and Raphael who was the founder of the idea. I helped paint and I created the palm leaves.
Austin's character drawing project
This project required us to pick any movie and draw a character that was in that movie. I chose to watch the movie Benny and Joon and drew Johnny Depp. At first I thought about just drawing a version of his character in the movie, but then I decided to draw a mashup of all Johnny Depps characters that he's played. I made him into a frog, just because I thought it would be an interesting animal to draw him as. I tried to make his face as the mad hatter which is one of the characters that he has played. His hands are supposed to represent his character from the Edwards Scissorhands movie. My drawing is also supposed to represent his character from Dark Shadows and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Faces of art history
For this project we had to attempt to make a copy of any face in History. It could be the face of an artist or a face in an artists paintings. I chose to recreate one of Salvador Dali's painting. It was a lot of work and it took a lot of patience, but in the end I think my painting was closely accurate to the original. My partner, Ivanka Kosteck helped me with many details in my painting as well.
Basquiat Painting
This project required us to make a painting using Jean-Michel Basquiats style of art. We were supposed to collaborate with someone else in our class and have them draw anything they wanted on our paintings. I collaborated with Raphael and Janie.
water color drawings
This project was to test our watercolor skills and our abstract skills too. One of the requirements for our watercolor drawings was to choose any kind of landscape from the internet and copy it into a watercolor painting. We also had to go outside and create a water color drawing of anything that was outside. I chose to paint a zoomed in version of a building that was in Downtown. After we completed these two paintings, we needed to make an abstract painting. My abstract painting it the one with the bright yellow and the weird shapes in it.
BOB DYLAN
For this project we had read an auto biography in our English class about anyone we wanted to know more about. Once we were done reading the book, we needed to create a portrait of the writer using materials from books and magazines. This was the outcome.
Morphing
The object of this project was to create two water color paintings about a cartoon we liked when we were young kids. The first one had to be a painting of our original cartoon image. The second painting had to be a morphed picture of our cartoons. I chose to make a watercolor painting of the Disney Princesses. I also decided to change them into what I think most girls in society are acting like today.
Self Portraits
In this project, we had to basically challenge and develop our drawing skills. We had to start by taking a picture of ourselves and then creating two drawings. One had to be exactly like our picture and the other one could be a line drawing of ourselves or we had to make it look like a cartoon. I chose to do my second drawing into a small animated cartoon.
Sketchbook Art!
We were required to make 2 drawings of a mouth, nose, eyes, hair to see what we are capable of accomplishing. We also needed to create a hand drawn Dp header, which you can see above.
