1. How was your work as an intern meaningful to your education and personal growth?
I think the work I have done as an intern plays a great roll towards my education because it has made me realize what colleges or classes I should look into more. Not only that, but also getting more experience being around animals and in the medical field. This internship has also shown me how school is much different and I feel like it makes school seem like a kid kinda thing. Not quite sure how to explain that, but hopefully you understand my point. Now referring to myself and how it has made me grow, I'd have to say that I have grown to become more flexible and more organized. I think thats going to help me a bit in life and I think I should also work on being more "bubbly"..
2. How did your view of life beyond high school change or develop during your time as an intern?
Well my view of life beyond high school has really changed a lot and by that I mean that I used to be quite frightened about the fact that I still didn't know what I wanted to study and become before this whole internship started. So of course I wanted to do something with animals because I really like animals, but who doesn't? After gaining experience at the Safari Park about animal behavior, I've come to realize that this is actually something I'm really good at. I never really noticed that I was very detail oriented. Well, I actually always knew I was, but I never really put much attention to it and I think it really plays a great roll in this internship. Although I like this internship a lot, I would like to try something with marine life just because I've always been quite fascinated by aquatic animals.
3. How did communication and/or collaboration at work influence your understanding of professional working environments?
Hmm.. I think by watching and being part of the way the workers interact with one another, you have to be very positive. I think this is something to always remember because it seems like it really gets you places. Also, during the time I've been here I've also noticed that helping out one another by either doing other peoples laundry or helping each other out in training sessions. Last but not least, communication is very important other wise there would be a lot of confusion and that would not good.
