1. How was your work significant or meaningful to your workplace?
A: Well I think my work has helped out the behavior department a bit because they really needed to make some space in order to move some animals inside such as Poco who is a lowland paca and a couple reptiles. Poco has been having some health issues and spends most of the time inside along with a superb starling named Ringo who broke his wing and can't fly very much. My mentor has been wanting to move the reptiles in her office so that they wouldn't have to be in the bird show area. She plans on moving them inside the office once it has been cleared out and remodeled.
2. How did your project(s) go from an idea or inspiration to a final product? Explain the processes from the initial idea to the final product and the skills that you used and developed.
A: Although I didn't have quite much of a project, I consider moving equipment and organizing files a project. Organizing files was indeed an easy task, but a bit of a challenge because I was having a hard time remembering which animals where what and the facts about them. It did take me a while to figure out most of the animals names and how to tell them apart, but I still have trouble recognizing which cheetah is who. Moreover, moving equipment I think has taught me how to be more organized not only with paper work, but also with this. I've learned quite a lot from this whole experience, like being more independent and doing what I think is right although its always good to ask question when you are doubt. Truthfully, I think as the days go by the more I feel like this is something I would like to be apart of. I feel more motivated and inspired to work with exotic animals. I'm not a 100% sure, but it's definitely a great option. I wish I could stay here a little longer though because it's so great and I just feel like not going back to school at all x). Oh well .-.
